Join us for the 2nd meeting of the “FUF Advocates” — a grassroots group dedicated to improving SF’s public policy around street trees and urban greening.
We work strategically to advocate for plans to grow the size or our urban forest and make it safer/healthier for everyone. At our first meeting, we gave context and co-created the framework for the “FUF Advocates.” Moving forward, the group will meet monthly to sync-up and we welcome new-comers at every stage. Come be a part of the solution to make SF a greener more livable city.
For the last few years, we’ve been lobbying City Hall to maintain San Francisco’s street trees instead of making the adjacent property owners maintain them. On Tuesday, February 10th, the Board of Supervisors agreed – unanimously passing the Urban Forest Plan, which FUF helped write.
This success is just the beginning: The Supes’ approval of the plan shows they agree with us about the best policy, but there was no funding tied to their approval to set the plan in motion.
That’s where you come in! The FUF Advocates will work directly to push City Hall and create a network of those that want to “speak for the trees” and turn the plan into a reality.
