Meet new members of the planting team

Friends of the Urban Forest has recently added a couple of new employees to our planting team.

Madalyn WatkinsMadalyn Watkins, our new Sidewalk Landscape Planting Manager, initially joined us as an intern in June when she moved to San Francisco.  Previously she worked as an agro-forestry volunteer for Heifer International, planted school orchards and street trees for a community greening organization in Scotland, and educated school groups in Belize about the benefits of trees.  She grew up in Arkansas, and now lives in the Ingleside neighborhood.

Brandon NammBrandon Namm, our new Planting Manager, has an Environmental Studies degree from UC Santa Cruz and a Masters in Forestry from Humboldt State University.  Prior to joining FUF, he worked for the Davey Tree Expert Company inventorying street trees in the Bay Area.  He grew up in Ventura, California, and moved to San Francisco a year-and-a-half ago.  He lives in the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood.

Madalyn and Brandon are looking forward to meeting you at one of our planting events.  Check out our Events Calendar to find out dates and locations.
