PLEASE NOTE: THIS PAGE IS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING UPDATED IN 2005. THE BEST USE OF THIS PAGE IS FOR TREE PICTURES AT THIS TIME. PLEASE CALL FUF STAFF (extension 100, 101, 102, 109, or 110) FOR FURTHER, MORE UP TO DATE, TREE ADVICE.

FUF's tree selector provides broad information on appropriate species for many microclimates and soils of San Francisco. Please note, however, that even in sunny neighborhoods like the Mission, there are many areas that seldom catch direct sunlight. Likewise, there are areas in the Sunset and Richmond that are relatively free of strong winds. Be aware of local conditions. If in doubt, contact FUF staff or your nursery expert before making a final decision. FUF is only funded to plant sidewalk trees.
