CHARACTER: Evergreen; spreading irregular form with open canopy
SIZE: Small (Height: 12 -20'; spread: 15-20').
GROWTH RATE: Medium
FOLIAGE: Dark glossy green oval leaves, 2-3" long.
FLOWER/FRUIT/BARK: Medium blue in 3-5" spikes in Spring. Gray craggy bark.
MONTHLY WATERING NEEDS: 1st year: 4; 2nd year: 3; 3rd year: 1.
TREE CARE: Low, prune to create good form
TOLERANCES: Sandy soil, drought tolerant.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS: Requires sun and excellent drainage, gets root rot in clay soil. Very short-lived.
NOTABLE TRAITS: This is a cultivar, but the genus is native.
