Growth: Fast
Foliage: Gray-green, willow-like, narrow leaves, 4-6" long.
Flower: Small white flowers, _" long, bloom May-June.
Bark: Rough, dark brown bark.
Monthly Watering Needs: In general, 15-20 gallons per week for the first 2 years; 15-20 gallons twice a month for the 3rd year; as needed after 3 years (varies by soil, sun, and wind conditions).
Tree Care: High. Hard to establish central leader Ð need to prune frequently, especially in early years to relieve weight. Prune out narrow attachments and crossing branches.
Tolerances: Drought (once established), poor drainage, any soil, moderate winds, fog. Sun or partial shade. Disease and pest resistant.
Special Considerations: 4x4' basin recommended. Wind can misshape tree.
Notable Traits: Native to Australia. Older trees develop beautiful weeping form Disease and pest resistant. Crushed leaves smell like peppermint.
