We all have occasions we want to mark
a marriage of a young couple, the passing of a special friend,
a significant life event such as a graduation. Why not plant
a tree to commemorate these important times?
By planting a tree through Friends of the Urban
Forests Tree Tribute Program, you enhance the environment
as you provide a living tribute that will last for many years,
adding greater benefit as it grows.
Here's how it works:
When you contribute $50 to Friends of the Urban Forest, you
can designate that gift for a Tree Tribute. We will send a
certificate on your behalf to whomever you indicate, and we
will send you a letter to let you know that we mailed the
certificate.
We will invite you and the certificate recipient
to join us in a tree planting so that you can participate
actively in the planting of your memorial or gift tree. We
cannot, however, mark or otherwise identify which specific
trees are part of the Tree Tribute program. You will be able
to know which San Francisco neighborhood benefited from your
generosity and on what date.
Think about all of the life events you can honor
with Tree Tributes: a birth, a passing, a graduation, a wedding,
or Mothers or Fathers Day. Each of these can be commemorated
with the planting of a tree. Contributions made to the Gift
of Life program are tax-deductible.
To dedicate a tree, call (415)561-6890 x105
or complete the print
form and send it to us with your payment.
