FUF offers community members many ways to improve their knowledge of the trees found along our streets. Learning tree names is the first step and it is easier than most people realize. It is fun too!

Tree Tours
A varied palette of urban sights and sensations to capture the interest of the gardener, the tree lover, the sightseer, and the history buff. June – September.

On the Web
FUF’s Gallery of Trees — photos of trees often planted along San Francisco’s sidewalks.

SFTrees — includes a "tree locator" section by neighborhood.

Send us a sample or photo
By regular mail, email or even fax. We love it when we get tree i.d. inquiries. If we do not know what it is, we will know someone that does.

FUF’s Photo Library
We have hundreds of 35 mm slides in the photo library at our office. They are organized by genus and species. This may be especially helpful to horticulture students or anyone that wants to jump start their tree i.d. skills. We even have some oddball stuff; old slides from our very first plantings, also organized by neighborhood. It is a real photo archive!
