Friends of the Urban Forest is committed to the belief that street trees are a critical element of a livable urban environment. Many residents believe that having tree-lined streets is a basic right, like having clean water to drink and clean air to breathe. We agree.

FUF also believes that people have the right to be educated about their city’s street trees.

Educational efforts at FUF are not new. Since 1981 we’ve been in classrooms, and we’ve been in hearing rooms at City Hall. We offer free walking tree tours, free pruning Treescapes workshops, and in the past we have offered free education seminars at our Presidio office.

We have included the Tree Planting & Tree Care links on our education page because we feel strongly that the best way to learn is through hands-on experience.

If you would like to receive our monthly events calendar by email, visit our email sign up page.
